Mazatenago "Mazate"

After spending the day at Takalik Abaj, our friend Iris decided to take us to Mazate, the town she grew up in. Her parents own a small hotel there and that is where we stayed. After our busy day of being outside and getting ate up by the ants and mosquitos, I was really happy to take a long shower and get a good nights sleep.

Sunday morning, we went to the market to buy tamales for breakfast. This market was a lot of fun! Not only did they have food for sell, they were selling pigs and chickens. One of the chickens got away and Iris was nice enough to catch it and give it back to the woman.

After breakfast, her mother gave us a tour of about five little towns that are around them. After a while, they all looked the same and nothing really stood out. However, we were grateful that they did that for us.

Your new friend Iris sounds cool. I can't believe she went after a run-away chicken AND caught it. OMG! That was a sight to see.
Bet you're devouring the BEST FOODS EVER!

ENJOY LIFE!!!
