Detour

As some of you may know, I DO NOT LIKE flying out of O'hare because there is always some sort of delay. Well, I thought that this morning since I was catching a early flight out I would not have that problem. Guess again! We sat on the runway for at least 45 minutes before air traffic control gave us the go ahead to start taking off. My plane was number 16 in line and had to wait FOREVER before we could take off. Once we go off the ground the flight was smooth. I sat by two very nice people who were in Madison/Chicago for a bike (bicycle) race. They had to cut it short after one of them fell of his bike going 35 MPH around a corner. After listening to him, I realized that the start to my adventure could have possibly been much worse. As the Safety Patrol (thanks Maddie) would say "Safety First."

I arrived in Charlotte, N.C. late of course with no flight leaving to Guatemala City until tomorrow morning at 11:40 AM (the flight I was suppose to be on today). I retrieved my luggage, booked a hotel room along with a rental car. I might as well make the best of this detour and enjoy the wonder city of Charlotte, N.C. This is a mini adventure within my big adventure.

I got word to the Bed and Breakfast that was suppose to pick me at the airport that I would not be arriving until tomorrow. I hope they let Kathy know that I am not arriving today so she isn't wandering around Guatemala City lost and alone. However, if I know her she will be exploring the city and will let me know about all of the fun she tomorrow.

OMFG! This is your chance to be a Southern Girl- JD. Hey- think of it as a practice run before you really go South (of the border).
It's an adventure. Enbrace all that comes along with open arms...especially any eye candy.
;*)
